French Gothic style, son of Nicola Pisano.

Nicola Pisano - (active ca 1258 - 1278) was an Italian sculptor whose work is noted for its
classical Roman sculptural style. Pisano is sometimes considered to be the founder of modern sculpture.

Cimabue - (1240 - 1302) an Italian painter,
one of the first artists to break away from
Italo-Byzantine style,
influenced by
Gothic sculpture, and in pursuit of a new
naturalism. He is also well known for his student Giotto. Cimabue is generally regarded as the last great painter working in the
Byzantine tradition. Painted

Renaissance painter, a pioneer
in using
naturalistic approach
to representation based on observation.. He is generally considered the first in a line of great artists who contributed to the

Duccio di Buoninsegna - (c. 1255-1260 – c. 1318-1319) was one of the most influential Italian artists of his time. Worked mostly with pigment and
egg tempera, painting religious subject matters. He has influenced Simone Martini and Ambrogio and Pietro Lorenzetti. Painted the
Betrayal of Jesus, and
Virgin and Child Enthroned with Saints.
Simone Martini - (c. 1284 – c. 1344) Italian painter, major figure in the development of early Italian painting and greatly influenced the development of the
International Gothic style. Painted

Pietro Lorenzetti - (c. 1280 - 1348) Italian painter, active between 1306 and 1345. Painted

Ambrogio Lorenzetti - (c. 1290 – 1348) was an Italian painter active between 1317 to 1348. His elder brother was the painter Pietro Lorenzetti. His work shows the influence of Simone Martini, although more
naturalistic. He painted
